I have been thinking about writing this ezine since the last one published, wondering what would I write about; what would inspire me. I have been here 4 weeks, one cycle of healing (21 days for healing, 7 days for integration). I have been told by fellow writers and Spirit alike, that when I am stuck, go to the place that inspires me the most. So I did. I went to the water and walked in the surf.
The surf is very loud, especially today. I’m assuming that there was a storm at sea because the waves were bigger than usual. There were actually surfers at my beach. They were fun to watch. As I was watching them, not very far from shore, I realized that I couldn’t hear the woman giving advice to the man she was teaching in spite of the fact that she was yelling. (I could tell by her body position.) I also couldn’t hear the couple walking past me calling for their dog or the two women standing just a few feet away pointing and discussing the surfers. As I realized what was going on, I took a breath and felt the peace. Life and noise were all around me and there was a quiet in my body. It suddenly became so tangible that I almost dropped to the ground. I had forgotten that this feeling is mine every day. I give it away. I let it go a bit at a time. When I get riled at the loss of Internet (I’m on an island, apparently it happens a lot), when I get impatient with anything including the heat and humidity, when I judge myself for not being inspired; I am giving away my Peace! I have also realized that it has taken me 55 years to find peace in my heart, body, mind (well, I’m still working on this one) and soul. I read about it, meditated on it, went to lectures on it and attended workshops. They all helped. What has helped me the most is giving up the fight, not my passion, the fight! Recently, a client was discussing how she spends her money. This is an issue for all of us. She, however, has been appointed to decide who will receive funds through her family’s foundation. It was not a discussion about the actual spending, but the feeling she has when spending. Through this discussion, she realized that she fights the decision making process every day. She equates it to playing god and hates the assignment. In coming to understanding why she has created this assignment and reframing her roll as a service because of her compassion, intuition and integrity, she is finding peace in the chaos of a huge task. She reported that she is feeling the support of the Universe and that her office has actually become sanctuary for her. There is a way for all of us to find our Peace. I had to move across the country to figure it out. I wish for you to find peace more simply and easily. It might begin with being less stubborn than I am! It could start with going to that place in nature that instills peace for you and staying until you cease the battle with your life. It could be waking up earlier in the morning and being present in the quiet before the day’s responsibilities hit. It could simply be taking that breath and remembering that peace is inherently yours and only you can give it away or breathe it in. May you live Peace today and always,
