If you're not selfish enough to want to feel good, then you can't connect with the energy that is your Source, which does always feel good.

Are there tools that can be used in daily life to discern the difference between a spiritual instinct versus fear? ~ JB, NY
Spiritual instinct, intuition and gut feeling are all actually a knowing. In knowing there is strength and calm. When we know the truth, even though we may not like it or it seems challenging, peace and strength can come. We gain the ability to deal with whatever is in front of us. It is when there is uncomfortable uncertainty, we are in fear. This is why it is important to trust our intuition or Spiritual instinct.
Why is it that when we are in the depths of our struggles, we forget about our spirituality or intuition when that is the first place we should go to? ~ TB, CO
What is the adage? Old habits die hard. We have been so indoctrinated into the behavior of disconnecting with love, truth, light and Spirit, that when a challenge is presented, we are still going to our fall-back position. It is a matter of retraining our brains and bodies.
A good way to support the retraining is to have a good, trustworthy friend that you can call in these times. That friend’s primary job (in that moment) is to remind you to listen to your heart and act on your knowing. (You actually may want make that pact with each other.) As you breathe and remember who you are and that you have constant support from Spirit, you will regain your center and be able to take appropriate action.
I have a friend that I call when I am going through a karmic burn (aka: cold, flu, fever, etc.). I stand in front of my homeopathic medicine cabinet and we review what my body needs to support the healing. I do the same for her. This is another application of the retraining.
What is one of the more useful tools that you use for yourself to keep yourself centered when all around you is tumultuous? ~ EJ, CO
The answer above is a good example of one trick I keep in my hip pocket. Another is taking a walk (without cell phone). Often times, when chaos abounds, we forget that we have a Spiritual team to support us. We pull away and go into victim or martyr. In walking and breathing, we begin to get back in our bodies. Walking grounds us. Pretty quickly, and with the help of some focused breathing, we can stop focusing on the chaos and simply be. Then, we can begin to notice the beautiful world around us and return to oneness with it. That can lead to feeling better and more centered.
With the wild and crazy times we are in right now, I’m taking two walks a day on the beach. I unload the world into the waters and know that energy is being transformed into healing energy. With that I find humor and joy in life again.
How does spirit give you your information? Is it in dreams, pictures, words? ~ VM, CO
The short answer to that question is yes. We all have many psychic abilities that work together. Most times, one ability is more dominant than the others. This is due to a combination of past life experiences, purpose in this life, environment and necessity. Spirit loves humor so often, info will come in silly, simple ways. I love these gifts of insight. And, Spirit will always offer you the info you need in a way you can understand it.
Once, when I was quite ill and couldn’t really think, I got a strong urge to turn on the TV in the middle of the day. I remember thinking that was weird and turned the TV on anyway. I flipped through the channels and stopped on a show I don’t really like. Again, weird. I stood there and got a huge insight to a problem that I had been working on for several weeks! I turned off the TV and instantly started feeling better.

Song of the Sun: a film in development.
This amazing movie is about belonging in the universe, addressing our estrangement to the natural world. It weaves this theme throughout the film, as a personal and compelling invitation to the interface of psyche and cosmos. It is a call back to our senses--a call to the human heart and imagination at this pulsating edge of evolution, where modern science, mysticism and indigenous mind converge. Song of the Sun extols our human capacity, in the face of adversity, to rise, re-envision and transform.
