Touch is the balance to tech

I was working on a totally unrelated project when I began to hear information about connecting to family and friends and how important it is right now and will be in this coming year. Relationships are up for review and looking at how we hold relationship and share energy is very important. I thought, perhaps, that it had more to do with the season. It is, after all, that season!

The message was so clear and strong that I checked it out with Stephanie Jourdan*, an astrologer that I trust. She confirmed my hit by reporting that Mars is retrograde in Cancer right now through the end of this month. It is all about a return to family and friends that are like family in order to strengthen our core in dealing with the non-human (technological) world.

This is information that we have had for a long time and yet, it is important to (pardon the pun) bring it home from time to time. Tech gifts are really big this year with new computers and phones coming out. The more we move into the detached connection electronically, the more we need human connection and touch. We're tribal by nature. It is in our DNA to come together to share work, food, touch and laughter.

Many of us, that are single and work from home, joke about going to the grocery or the gym just to be in the presence of and talk with "real" humans. It's not really a joke. It is fact. It is not that phone contact isn't important or real. There is simply a need for humans to share time and space with other humans.

It is interesting that this configuration would coincide with the holiday season - hummm - I love the way everything fits together like there is some magic in the Universe. So, use this little nudge to help you feel and share the connection that is always present - with your family, with your friends who may be your chosen family and with human kind who is our bigger family. Smile at people. Touch someone lightly on the arm while you are chatting with him or her. Hug someone that you wouldn't normally hug. Contact someone that you haven't talked with in a while. Go to a concert or a comedy club where you are sharing something you already enjoy. Being aware of sharing an experience can strengthen and enrich the experience.

Allow yourself to gain strength and receive love through kindness and connecting with humanity. Many of us have hated this season for years. Perhaps it is time to look at the real power of this time of year. It has nothing to do with commercialism. It has to do with the heart. The true meaning of the season is allowing yourself to be touched by love. Healing can happen naturally and easily - when you allow it.

May we all reach out and share the love that we all have in our hearts. And, may we be strengthened by connecting.

Blessings for a joyful and gentle season,

Kim
