Sunday was Samhain (pronounced sow-win). It is one of the many New Year’s celebrated between September and February. This one is a part of the Earth holidays along with Solstice and Equinox and three others. With the time change, I easily got up early and hit the beach with the locals. It was a delight. I even walked in the surf, which was, to say the least, refreshing! One of my favorite things to look for each morning is that special gift that is brought by the sea. One day, it is high tide; another, buckets of shells; yet another, starfish, dolphins, or driftwood. Sunday, it was horseshoe crab shells.

As I stood in the place of beginnings and endings, always in perfect balance, I asked what I needed to know for the coming year. The answer was simple; manifesting it might be a little more complicated for a rehabilitating A-type. The answer was, “Be.” Be right here in the now. Stop looking…stop reaching…just stop and receive. Let things come the way offerings are brought by the Mother of Water.

Receiving doesn’t mean lying on the couch eating pizza waiting for the lottery check to show up. It means being in the moment, as we have all heard a million times. But, how often are we actually in the moment? What does it feel like to Be? How open are we to receiving? We dream about what we want; a stronger business or the perfect pair of skis or true love or a million other things every day. We seem to live in the potential instead of the perfect reality of the moment. Potential and reality are both important, though frequently we out of balance with them.

Universal Law states that we can only manifest in the present. Our part of this equation is to live in the present with the experience of already having that which we wish to manifest. I heard a comment from one of the Brothers Gibb on CBS Sunday morning that exemplifies this Law. He said that, when the family moved back to England to expand their singing career, they believed themselves to already be successful. They had no expectation of anything less and, as a result, they were not. Being in their heart’s truth allowed them to receive all that was possible.

How often do we actually stop resisting our lives and consistently stay open to receiving, body, mind, emotions and spirit? Do you have the courage to join me in this experiment? Live one day as though you already have everything you need and want. Live one day for the joy and fun of the day. Stop wanting for just one day or even one day a month What if you stopped wanting one whole day a week? What if being is the key to manifesting? What if peace of heart is the foundation for creating? What magic might occur?

Could we be so present that we never needed to look at a timepiece? Could we be so in the rhythm of life and in sync with our bodies that there would be no need to ask if we were hungry or what we wanted to do? Could we just naturally flow in the perfect balance of inspiration and action? Could we be so in the moment that our lives were a continual string of synchronistic experiences filled with joy and awe and no worry? (This might be the intention of vacations.)

I don’t know how successful I will be in this quest and it doesn’t matter. What matters is that I am willing to give being in the now a go. This is exciting and a worthy quest. Each moment that I am present within me, it is a perfect experience and is, by definition, a success. I feel blessed by such an offering from the Mothers on such an auspicious day.
