This chant has been running around my head for about a week and finally I realized why. We have been going through a lot of growth and change. It is time to be gentle. It is time to truly love us, not just pay lip service to self-love and self care. It is time to enter into the innocence of being a child of the Universe. It is time to allow our selves to be reborn.

I must admit that this is one of my favorite chants, as any of you who have done ceremony with me can attest to. It has always spoken to my heart and reminds me to be present. It gently whispers that I am part of something bigger, more meaningful and grander than being bored or disagreeable allows for.

I am gentle with myself Are you? What does that mean to you? Do you know the type of gentleness that includes kindness to self, understanding of choices, forgiveness in incidents in growth, and loving one's self without judgment? Those are a lot of words, said often in our world. They take consciousness and action (spiritual, mental, emotional and physical). The best way to describe this is with example. If you are having a particularly challenging day, do you power your way through it, complaining as you go and making more and more mistakes (Mercury is retrograde)? Or, do you take 10 minutes, go for a walk and focus on growing things; coming back more relaxed, energized and positive? There is always more than one way to approach our challenges.

I do love myself  Do you? What does that mean to you? Someone recently told me that one of the qualities of success is hard work. That's what our society has been telling us forever, but is it? Can hard work and self-love be equated? Self love and working smart with the love, support and guidance of Spirit are equal. Self-love is always acting from the place of supporting the whole self (body, emotions, mind and spirit). Therefore, if we ask a lot of our bodies, say working out an extra long time, then our bodies need plenty of water and nutrition to support them in that work. The same with the other parts of self. I talked with a gentleman this weekend that shared he had had a week of Mondays. Because of that, he was taking Sunday to himself; to be quiet, relax and do as he chose without obligation. YEA!!! May we all love ourselves and live in balance that much!

I am a child of the Universe Wow! What a reminder! You are part of something greater than the individual. Not more important, simply bigger. After all, that greater is made up of all the individuals. There is a law of physics in here; the total is greater than the sum of the parts (because the parts amplify the greatness of each other - Universal Law). How does that feel to you? I hope that it allows you to feel special and important. You are. Being a child of the Universe is the awareness that we are innocent. Innocence is not naivety. It is trust in Spirit to support and protect. They have our backs. It is a reminder of the exchange of energy; we trust Spirit to have our best interest at heart and they do because it allows us to help all that is. It is mutually beneficial!

Being born each moment Ah, rebirth! The fact that each moment is new and cannot be repeated is amazing. We can make a mistake one minute and be totally in our power the next. What a gift. We don't have to wait until the next morning to start over. A great example is in sports. A player can foul and turn around and score. It is all about the acceptance of being in the now. And, our bodies are being reborn each moment, as well. We heal ourselves continually without effort. This constant rebirthing is so powerful that it is almost beyond our understanding. We can, however, embrace it and live it.

If you know the tune, chant it. If not, chant the words. Breathe them. Walk with the words. Let them lift you up. Allow them to become your program for living.
