I have learned more about love and hate this last week than I thought I would ever need to know. I was reminded that we make decisions based on two things and two things only, love and/or fear. Greed and control are fear based. I watched enabling in all its glory in the name of not making waves. I saw narcissism control a room and watched people excuse it for grief. I also saw courage and love at its finest.

All of this intensity offered a great opportunity to look at my own issues, fears, and judgments about love and hate. I stopped running from reality. I looked the monster in the face, listened to my heart, knew the truth and named it. I am no longer afraid to be hated or feared for who I am. I no longer want or try to be what I am not in order to fit in and make others comfortable, i.e., to be loved.

Many of us work on these issues our entire lives. Each of us has those places in us that we have kept locked away. We have those monsters that we don’t want to see because we don’t know what to do with them. As I have said many times before, the healing energy running on this planet right now is opening the doors to those hidden places so we can face the monsters. Again, one of the laws of the Universe states (roughly), “You cannot let go of something until you acknowledge that it exists.” Open the door. Face the monster. Name it. Then bless it and release it.

Claim your right to be (joyful, free, abundant, healthy, etc.) and take your rightful place on this planet. Stop making space for perpetration. Build your healing team and your resources. Trust your heart above all else. Don’t give your power away. Share your love only with those who honor themselves and you—and who can return your love in kind. Those that hate you are not worthy of you. Everyday, take a step towards freedom. Love yourself for who you are, for who you are, is your gift to our world.
