Greatful
“Greatful"
Look at this spelling of greatful. It embraces the energy that one is full of greatness because of the love of another. The archaic definition of grateful is giving pleasure or comfort. In this case, it is receiving comfort from the kindness of another. What a beautiful reminder that we are filled with greatness from the gifts of Spirit, humans, animals and the planet. This is a true and equal exchange of energy. The experience of both is enhanced because there must be one to receive the gift as well as one to give.
All of us have been in situations where this was out of balance. We have given to someone who could not open his or her heart and therefore threw our gifts aside in one way or another. It is heart breaking. We have also received with great appreciation as the giver dismissed the gift and therefore, us. Again, it is heart breaking. Both the giver and receiver must be in harmony for there to be greatness.
I have been asked to talk about stress relief from a Spiritual standpoint. Recently, in experiencing restlessness at night and its relationship to stress, I remembered a wonderful tool. The last thing, before you turn out the light and go to sleep, write 10 things that you are greatful for. Write simple things. Write the things that fill you with greatness. This practice offers several levels of healing. It reminds you of the beauty and power of your day and your life. It allows your mind to focus on positive, healing thoughts, therefore, relieving stress, bringing your heart rate down and allowing for a more peaceful night. You will wake up more rested, less stressed and with a much better attitude.
Be greatful. Be filled with greatness. Receive the gifts of love, consciously, joyfully and honestly.
